Dante’s Inferno WELCOME TO HELL
What will hell look like? What descriptions or allusions from stories, movies, songs give us an image? Before we leave..
How do you feel about that? Why? Because, according to Dante, in order to achieve moral redemption, one must take a hard look at the evil world and himself first. One must confront inner evil to reach self-knowledge. We are taking a journey into hell
There are 9 circles of hell • Dante travels to hell with a guide, Virgil (who is a real-life roman poet). • Must travel through the Inferno, Purgatory, and then Paradise • It begins when Virgil finds Dante on Good Friday in the year 1300…he serves as a tour guide as Dante tries to find God • Our journey is a comedy • A tale that ends with a happy ending So where does our journey begin?
But where? The River of Acheron Charon must take us across the river thru the gates of HELL Let’s begin
