The purpose of this work is to explain how Italian's Public Administration tries to support local development of some sub-Saharan countries through the strengthening of local institutions, in particular supporting the computerization and training. The project that is analyzed is led by the “Istituzione Centro Nord Sud” an Agency of the Province of Pisa A Project of International Development Cooperation

  3. The Institution “Center North-South” was born in 1999 and is a Pisa’s Provincial Agency for the management of integration, inter-culture and development cooperation policies. The working method of Institution is the sharing of projects, to represent an open door in the area. “Istituzione Centro Nord Sud” (ICNS)‏

  4. The aim is to connect, among them, projects of volunteer associations, NGOs, social cooperatives, local authorities and institutions of the area to create an unitary system of intervention. Since 1999 Ithas been created many negotiating tables, suck as, Inter-culture Provincial Coordination Tables, Table for foreign population integration. The ICNS participates, in add, to Decentralized Cooperation Regional negotiating Tables divided into areas. The targets of the ICNS

The general objectives of the Project • The strengthening of the decentralization process in Burkina Faso • The improvement of capacity of local planning and resource management • The strengthening cooperation between European and Africa • The encouragement of democratic processes and local governance

  6. The Good Governance in the Municipalities involved. The decrease of administrative procedures' inefficiencies and delays. The improvement of data management of the Municipalities' deparments. The specific objectives of the project

  7. Consensus Oriented Participatory According with Rule of Law Effective and Efficient Accountable Transparent Responsive Equitable and Inclusive The project underlines the main principles of good governance

  8. The project provides information technology in order to improve public administration and consequently spreading the Good Governance in Burkina Faso. The good governance is an essential precondition for sustainable development. Strategy

  9. Lower administrative costs. Faster and more accurate response to requests and queries. Acces to all departments and levels og government from any location. Increasing the quality of feedback to managerial and policy levels. The benefits

  10. All actors are involved in the process of decision making. The approach is partecipative and non-authoritative. The principles of the project

  11. The complete digitalization of the transmission. The complete “informatization” of the accounts departments, secretariats and the registry offices. The use of information technology improved transparency and rigor in financial resource management. Conclusion and Results

  12. Monitoring means “to watch or check on” The check was lead by the Ngo Lvia. Lvia is an Italian organization dealing with solidarity and international cooperation. It has benne working since 1966 with the aim of fighting social inequality, food insecurity , poverty and human development. It has 49 volunteers and 150 local experts in 12 African and eastern European countries, where it operates with local partners. In 2006 it became associated member of the Italian Institute for Donation and has been awarded the certificate of Excellence in Ethics and management. Monitoring
