  2. Steps to Follow: 1. Choose your journey 2. Copy itinerary into your log 3. Go to the first city • Roll dice to determine how many nights and pull that amount of beans • Color of bean determines your fate: • White = you move to next city • Red = you have contracted the Plague • Mottled = you have contracted Cholera • Put all beans back into the bag 4. Make an entry in your log, mark your journey on the map & go to next city 5. If you contract a disease , follow step 5

Simulation Grading: Participation10 points ~ In-class work • To get an A: student participates fully, quietly, & respectfully; does NOT look in the bag when pulling beans out • To get a B: student participates fully, some off-task behaviors; does NOT look in the bag • To get a C: student participates minimally, off-task; peeks in the bag • To get a D: barely participate, socialize, loud; fully looks and bag • To get an F: student is a bump on a log and/or obnoxious; deliberately looks in the bag 

  4. Simulation Grading: Log10 Points ~ Homework Grade • To get an A: For each city you visit, describeTWO things you see related to the plague or other disease in first person. Then, research and describe TWO activities/sites a tourist would encounter for every city on your itinerary (historic or current). • To get a B: Same as for A, but only research and describe ONE activity/site per city on your itinerary • To get a C: TWO plague-related items, fully described; no researched activities/sites • To get a D: Only ONE plague-related item, fully described; no researched activities/sites • To get an F: no effort shown or no log entries
