What are the HSI Knowledge Broadcasts? • In reach effort to increase awareness of HSI tools, practices, as well as general areas of interest • Point out current use cases or bodies of information • Explanation of subject matter relevance • Identify points of contact • Help connect the dots • Currently targeting JSC/SLSD activities • Ideas for proposed topics/presenters welcomed! NOT training events! Human System Integration (HSI) • Integrates human health and performance concerns • Considers crew as a system and part of total system performance • Identifies key drivers to vehicle design • Shapes operational concepts • Evaluates crew needs • Allows humans (health and performance) to be traded with other vehicle subsystems Power to the people! And not as an after thought but from the very beginning of a project through operation and even decommission So, don't we already do this? Isn't it common sense?
Our definitions may be formative – But we are all working towards a common goal! Reduce Lifecycle Costs! Increase Safety! Improve System Performance!
