Save or Salvation • The Word which summarizes all the other key words • Used in Paul in three ways • We are saved (present) – death of Jesus; baptism as means of receiving it • We are being saved (progressive present; in process) – sacraments or life in the church; from baptism to last rites • We will be saved (future) – safe place (future); heaven; last rites prepares for it. • Illustration: Man in a boat
Redemption • Jesus uses His blood to buy us • To bring us to the Father • To salvage or rescue us • Christ’s sacrifice for the life of the world is the means of our redemption
