  1. Who is on thelist? In whichorder? CriteriaforAuthorship

  2. L&O • Every person listed as an author must have: 1) contributed substantially to the study's conception, data acquisition, or analysis; 2) contributed substantially to drafting the manuscript; and 3) approved the final submitted manuscript. All three conditions must be met. Acquisition of funding, the collection of data, or general supervision of the research group, by themselves, do not justify authorship.

  3. Nature • Author contributions: D. v. S., R. M., and M. K. conceived the paper; D. v. S, M. K., B. O., and L. G. analyzed the field data and D. v. S. and R. M. performed upscaling exercises. D. v. S. and R. M. co-wrote the paper. All authors obtained the emission data, discussed the results, and commented on the manuscript.

  4. DFG - Sicherung guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis Autorinnen und Autoren wissenschaftlicher Veröffentlichungen tragen die Verantwortung für deren Inhalt stets gemeinsam. Autorin oder Autor ist nur, wer einen wesentlichen Beitrag zu einer wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichung geleistet hat. Eine sogenannte „Ehrenautorschaft“ ist ausgeschlossen.

  5. DFG Als Autoren einer wissenschaftlichen Originalveröffentlichung sollen alle diejenigen, aber auch nur diejenigen, firmieren, die zur Konzeption der Studien oder Experimente, zur Erarbeitung, Analyse und Interpretation der Daten und zur Formulierung des Manuskripts selbst wesentlich beigetragen und seiner Veröffentlichung zugestimmt haben, d. h. sie verantwortlich mittragen.

  6. DFG Als nicht ausreichend für eine Autorenschaft werden die folgenden Verdienste um eine Veröffentlichung aufgeführt: - Verantwortung für die Einwerbung der Förderungsmittel,- Beitrag wichtiger Untersuchungsmaterialien,- Unterweisung von Mitautoren in bestimmten Methoden,- Beteiligung an der Datensammlung und -zusammenstellung,- Leitung einer Institution oder Organisationseinheit, in der die Publikation entstanden ist,
