The president is elected for a five-year term by the people, election occurs every 5 years. voting age is 18, born or naturalized citizen, cannot be declared incapable. The executive branch of the united states has always had a strong bond with the Lithuanian government, and the United States has reassured Lithuania that in times of war we will come to their assistance.
