The OPO Committee Fall 2018 session sought feedback on expedited placement concepts for liver allocation. This information is being used to develop a proposal for the January 2019 Expedited Placement Project. The focus is on developing criteria for in-OR and pre-OR triggers, evaluating potential "lists" for faster acceptance, and reviewing the "probability of transplant" model. The process includes work group calls, policy language development, in-person meetings, monitoring/compliance requirements, programming considerations, and finalizing the proposal. The public comment period will begin in January 2019, with the Board of Directors meeting in June 2019.
