  3. Right-click on the desktop and click the Personalise option

  4. Select from the preloaded themes

  5. Or change the desktop background individually

  6. Choose any picture type or a solid colour

  8. Click Save to apply changes

  9. Installing Shortcuts Shortcuts allow quick access to frequently used programs

  10. Select program you wish to create a shortcut for from Start, All Programs

  11. Right-click and select Send To, Desktop (create shortcut)

  12. The shortcut can now be found on the desktop

  13. Using System Configuration System Configuration can help identify problems that might prevent Windows from starting correctly

  14. Access System Configuration in Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools

  15. The General tab includes selection of basic startup configurations

  16. The Boot tab includes selection of boot location and some boot options

  17. The Services tab shows all current services. Services can be enabled/disabled here to identify possible problem-causing services.

  18. The Startup tab shows all startup items. Startup items can be enabled/disabled here to identify possible problem-causing items.
