Agenda 2030 Agenda 2030 was approved by General Assembly of the United Nations on the 26 of September 2015 On the 1 of January 2016 the Agenda has taken effect . Agenda consists of17 goals and 169 targets. 2
CIS-Stat Survey In 2016 CIS-STAT conducted a special survey of availability of methodological and statistical base for monitoring progress of implementation of SDG. SDG Indicators Questionnaire was developed and sent to national statistical services of the CIS countries. 10
SDG indicators Questionnaire • The CIS counties answered “yes” or “no” the following 5 questions regarding each SDG indicator : • - is thе indicator relevant for your country? • - is there a methodology for indicator in your country? • - are there data for indicator in your country? • - is data collection for indicator planned in your country? • - is wording refinement needed for indicator? 11
Results of survey • 12% of SDG indicators do not need wording refinement or explanations. • All responded countries acknowledged 42% of SDG indicators as relevant • All countries have data and methodology for 20% of indicators. 12
Council of the Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS Member States approved the results of CIS STAT survey on SDG indicators (55th meeting, 8 September 2016, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan). Council entrusted CIS STAT to continue the work together with the national statistical services. CIS STAT informed UN Statistics Division and Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians about current assessment of the list of SDG indicators in the CIS region. The results of survey were presented at the international conference on national SDG monitoring system implementation (19-20 September,2016, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) and Regional Meeting on the Integration of ICPD Related Indicators into SDGs Adaptation and Review at Regional and Country Level, 2-4 November, 2016, Geneva, Switzerland 14
Second step of survey The list of SDG indicators for CIS region was formed on the basis of the replies of the National Statistical Services (NSS). The list was sent to the NSS for comments and remarks. It includes 111 indicators and take of additions of NNS. 15
Directions of further work 1. Improvement of methodological base. 2. Solution of problems of data disaggregation. 3. Elimination of "gaps" in data. 4. Solution of questions of interdepartmental interaction 16
