6. Security Bear HOAX It would be quite a shock to look out your window and see a party of polar bears on your front lawn, but it never happened. If you look closely you can see that the section of the picture with the bears in it was digitally inserted into a scene of a suburban house. Back

7. Tallest Woman HOAX The tall woman on the left in this picture is a real woman. Her name is Heather Haven, and she has her own website that includes many photos showing off her above average height. But this picture in particular shows evidence of having been digitally altered. To the right of her legs you can see a region where the shadows and light don't match up with the rest of the picture, evidence of a clumsy cut-and-paste job. Back

17. Thunder Bird REAL A photo taken over the Pacific July 7, 1999 by Ensign John Gay. The plane is an F/A-18 Hornet assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron One Five One (VFA-151). The image is available on a Navy website. Back
