Why critique authorship? • Hyperauthorship • Notions of authorship differ per epistemic community • Problem of different kind of research contributions and collaborations • Process over product No fixed text • Knowledge economy and information capitalism • No room for community aspect of science
Critiquing authorship in theory and practice Is scholarship possible without a fixed point of authority? Once we change our notions of authorship, do we need to change everything? Remix practices can be an important aspect of performing authorship differently
