On July 8, 2007, the Jewish Agency sent eight young Ethiopian-born Israelis to staff the UJC CCD mission and to tell the story of our work to the 180 mission participants As personal examples of the federation system’s success these eight staff persons inspired the mission to launch an even better annual campaign in 2008

  8. Returning to the village of Ambover after 20 years…

  9. Remembering the 4,000 who died on the way…

  10. Giving a helping hand

  11. Final preparation for Aliyah at the Jewish Agency compound in Addis

  12. Each child came on Aliyah with a new schoolbag

  13. And finally, at home in Israel

  14. In Israel, mission participants • Visited Jewish Agency Absorption Centers, • Participated in a summer camp for children from Sderot, • Were inspired by our student village activity in the Negev at the closing plenary.
