Lebanon Green Building Council at a glance • A non-profit NGO founded in 2008 • Governance & Membership • President & Board of 10 elected for 2 years. • 5 standing committees • one permanent committee for the ARZ Building Rating System • Around 70 members, from a multidisciplinary background • (student – individual – corporate) • Collaboration & networking • Key local entities (OEA, etc.) • Regional Green Building Councils (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar). • World Green Building Council (selected for emerging member status) • A vision of partnership (IFC, Amideast, Makhzoumi foundation, Suiss embassy, …)

ARZ Building Rating System - Overview The ARZ Building Rating System is designed to measure the extent to which existing commercial buildings in Lebanon are : healthy, comfortable places for working consuming the right amount of energy and water while having a low impact upon the natural environment In addition, the rating system stimulates building owners and facility managers to achieve ever-higher certification levels to attract discerning tenants and clients.

  6. ARZ Building Rating System - Overview Voluntary Green Building Rating system specifically designed for the Lebanese context For commercial existing buildings as a start. Participative and progressive development and upgradable approach. Supervised by a board of trustees Buildings assessed by accredited assessors and final scoring and certification of the building by LGBC.
