Identify Your Unique Purpose • Determine your values and priorities • Discover your passions • Identify your interests, talents and contributions • Define your legacy • Put it all together
Values and Priorities • Deeply held beliefs that govern and guide our behavior • Ask, “What is most important to me?”
Passions • Desires or purposes that bring us joy • Strong emotion or enthusiasm
Finding Your Passion • What excites and energizes you? • What brings you joy? • When does time seem to fly by? What are you typically doing? • If you had one-hour on prime time TV, what subject would you talk about? • What problem or issue were you born to address?
Interests, Talents & Contributions • What activities do you most enjoy? • What do people say you’re good at? • What are your significant accomplishments? • What can you contribute to society?
Legacy • How do you want to be remembered? • What difference will you have made in the lives of others? • Write your obituary
Life Purpose • What is my purpose for being here on earth? • Visualize your ideal life
What Does Being Stuck Mean to You? • Routine • Difficult environment • Lack of motivation • Family issues • No clear goals
We Don’t Take Action If: • We really don’t know what to do • We perceive the alternate solutions as too difficult • We haven’t made a firm commitment to take action • We have a fear of change
Candor There are no shortcuts to discovering the perfect job (for you!)…… There is just the journey..
1. Does this job represent a considerable compromise for my family’s sake, and if so, do I sincerely accept the situation with all of its consequences.
2. Does this job and the things I actually do day-to-day, touch my heart in meaningful ways?
3. Does this job challenge me and am I able to contribute my talents – or does it leave my brain in neutral?
4. Does my current situation open doors for greater opportunities?
5. Does my current situation fit into my long-term career and/or life goals?
It’s the REACH that keeps us moving forward!
