Integration and upgrade of PCB toolsProject Background • The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designers in Bologna and Eugene use different software tools for schematic capture and board layout • Bologna - DxDesigner 2002 for schematic capture; Expedition PCB 2002 for board layout • Eugene - Design Capture 2005 for schematic capture; Expedition PCB 2005 for board layout • This divergence creates issues • Differences in library structure leading to issues with design data transfer between development and manufacturing • Use of custom interfaces to extract component information and upload BOMs to SAP
Integration and upgrade of PCB toolsProject Description • Integration and upgrade project to release a common set of tools for PCB design • Implement a transportable board design database using a common CAE platform and design processes at both Bologna and Eugene facilities for PCB development
