Definition of a ”good standard” “Group 1” • A ’good standard’ is a characterised by agreement via negotiation, approval and recognition by a standardisation body, applicability, availability, support of interoperability (where appropriate), and needs to solve a real problem in order to achieve wideness of adoption and provide ease of use for end-users • (preferred sentence – 7/11 votes)

List of the criteria for a ”good standard” (in order of priority 1: highest - 5: lowest) • Agreement via negotiation • Recognised by standardisation body • Applicable/viable • Availability • Support interoperability where appropriate • Standard to solve a real problem • Wideness of adoption Plus: Transparency; suit every party concerned; ease of use for consumers/end-users; added value to existing state of the art; room for flexibility when useful
