24. Recommendations • Complete the senior profile and resume • Identify teachers, advisors, coaches, employers who know you well and think highly of you • Ask in advance. Give recommenders time to complete your recommendation (at least 2 weeks to complete) • provide a stamped, addressed envelope along with the request • Most recommenders save the initial and welcome additional requests

PREPARE FOR YOUR SENIOR MEETING WITH YOUR COUNSELOR • Take time to discuss your college planning goals with family members. • Be able to discuss your tentative career goals. • Generate a list of questions relative to the college admissions process and/or your post high school goals. • Have a realistic list of 3 to 5 schools in which you have an interest. • Know your academic credentials such as GPA & previous test scores.
