  1. ISYS3400 Project DDavid Elton Associates Group 3: Andrew, Sophie, Nate, Jason, Irene, Nikka.

  2. The Problem Encountered • A structural drafting business that works with CAD drawings, the middle man between the architect and building material suppliers. • The business is starting to grow and has warranted a change in how CAD drawings are stored, managed and distributed to various stakeholders. • Current processes are predominately done manually due to basic computing knowledge and skills, unaware of alternatives.

  3. How The Project Is Progressing • After meeting with the client to fully interpret the problem that was being encountered, a list of requirements and desired functionality was created. • The interface design and usability of the system are two of the main requirements of this particular solution (as defined by the client), initial interface design screens drawn.

  4. Topic of the Week: Deciding a Methodology • Once a list of requirements were created from the client’s problems and needs, it was time to research possible ways to implement the desired solution. But what if the client doesn’t know exactly what they want? • Rapid Application Development (RAD) tries to overcome some of these problems by closely working with the client, constantly revising prototypes and using existing software solutions (typically open source)
