Computer Worm An independent program that multiplies itself by copying a segment.
Computer Virus A malicous computer program created by a user with objectives to harm or steal another `s property.
Network and Host worm • The network worm copies different segments of it self to computers.Host worm is a worm that copies itself to another network then deletes itself from previous computer.
Difference of worms and viruses • The difference is a worm can be active all the time and a computer virus is only active when the host is active.
Trojan Horse • A trojan horse is a malicious program disguised inside another program that seems harmless.
Stealth Virus • A virus in which if anyone attempted to view an infected sector,the virus would replace it with the clean,original version of the sector.
Boot Sector Virus • A virus that copies itself onto a computer off of a disk when the computer is booted up when someone else inserts a disk into the computer. The virus is downloaded.
Piggybacking • Theactof a computervirusattaching itself to another program
