  2. The Ironworks was located on the edge of the Saugus river on a 600 acre plot of land • Instead of having to produce food they could produce tools that didn’t have to be bought from Britain • New England had started to break away from Britain economically

  3. For the 22 years they were in business they produced 175 tons of iron per year • The company fell apart because of the cost of labor and mismanagement
