  2. Warm-up #6 Write a paragraph using at least five of the follow words: • Sunnah • Qur’an • Shaiah • Five Pillars • Alms • Mosque • Pilgrimage • Muhammad

  3. Five Pillars of Islam • Divide page 16 of your notebook into a chart like this.

  4. Five Pillars of Islam Jigsaw • Each group will make a poster about one of the Five Pillars of Islam. • Tables 1 and 6 = 1st pillar • Tables 2 and 7 = 2nd pillar • Tables 3 and 8 = 3rd pillar • Tables 4 and 9 = 4th pillar • Tables 5 and 10 = 5th pillar • Each poster must include: • The number of the pillar. • Name of the pillar. • A 2 sentence or more description of the pillar. • An image to represent the pillar.

  6. Do Now • Review for your quiz

  7. Five Pillars of Islam Jigsaw… • You may use your books, notes, or other classroom resources as needed. • Stay and Stray – select one person from your group to do a one minute presentation of your Pillar Poster. • Your group will rotate to each Pillar Poster. • Each group will have a Pillar Poster Presenter who will stay behind to present and explain the poster as each group rotates through. • Be ready to explain what you learned about each pillar.

  8. Rise of Islam Quiz • Get out loose leaf piece of paper. • Write the title, your name, date, and period. • Number 1-15 straight down, without skipping lines. • Clear your desk. • Talking during the quiz = zero. • Do not write on the quiz!

  9. Homework • Finish Journal Entry #2
