Antigen-antibody Complex Classical pathway: C1 Pathogen surface C3 convertase Lectin pathway: MBL Pathogen carbohydrate (Mannose-binding Lectin) The alternative pathway
The alternative pathway of the complement activation can amplify the clasical or the lectin pathway
Opsonization Phagocytosis
Complement activated by the alternative pathway attacks pathogens while sparing host cells.
All mature blood (red and white) cells are derived fromSTEM CELLS Haematopoiesis is the formation of blood cellular components (red and white blood cells). All of the cellular components of the blood are derived from hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). They are self-renewing and Multipotent/ Pluripotent, as they can become any type of cell in the blood system
Where Haematopoesis occurs? In children: inlong bones such as the femur and tibia. In Adults:in the pelvis, vertebrae, and sternum
