WHO? • Max Bennett – neuroscientist – Distinguished Chair, Ramaciotti Medal, Burnet Medal of Aust. Academy of Science • Ian Hickie – psychiatry – prizes for education, academic excellence, innovation, “Beyond Blue” • Simon Hawke – brain drain returnee from UK – CJD ( London Imperial College), Alberti Prize
HOW? • $3m + building from Uni. Strategic Devel. • $1m external award to purchase micro PET scanner ( one of only few worldwide) • $2.8m raised in 2003 + $15m to come • Access to adjoining clinical trials centre
