Vaccine Products • All Adult & Pediatric vaccines are Preservative Free • No Flumist for adult population
Adult Vaccine Eligibility • > 19 years of age • RI resident or employed and insured by a RI employer • Insurance status: • Insured: Free vaccine, bill insurer for admin • Uninsured: refer to participating PAP site • Use of SSV for non-eligible patients is prohibited
Delivery Schedule • Pediatric and Adult • Pediatric will be released when all presentations are available • Prevents limitations on who can get vaccinated • First release • Dependent on manufacturer releases and inventory amounts received • Manufacturer release schedule • 50% by September 15, 2013 • 100% by November 1, 2013* *Except Flumist, delivered in multi-release schedule due to 16-week shelf live
Influenza Vaccine Shipping • Initial release • HEALTH will notify providers when vaccine is available for order. • Providers will be able to order based on percentage of supply available • Example: State receives 15% of annual pre-book, provider may order up to 15% of pre-book • Providers may order up to 30% of pre-book, if available. • Additional shipments beyond 30% • Practice is required to report doses administered in OSMOSSIS • Dose ordering will be based on replenishment of reported usage • Rounded to the closest multiple of 10
Weekly Ordering • Orders must be submitted on-line • OSMOSSIS Flu ordering section • Orders will be filled: • Same week ordered if order is approved on a Monday or Tuesday • The following week for orders approved Wednesday – Friday • Based on available supply • Reporting Requirements • Required reporting for specific age groups, pregnant women, HCW, Medicare and Medicaid fee-for-service recipients
Waste / Returns • OSMOSSIS will allow providers to report Waste/Returns throughout the season. • HEALTH will submit returns on a monthly basis to CDC • Prepare returns in a plain box for courier pick-up. • No cold chain required
Transfers • OSMOSSIS will allow providers to transfer influenza vaccines between participating SSV Practices • Requires initiation from the practice releasing the vaccine • Requires acceptance from the practice receiving the vaccine • Unavailable if a vaccine order is in “Submitted” status

Hepatitis B • Catch-up vaccination 20 – 26 years • High risk adults > 27 years: - Health care personnel - Persons with diabetes - MSM - Persons seeking evaluation or treatment of STD
HIBHaemophilus Influenza Type B • High risk > 5 years of age: - Persons with sickle cell disease, leukemia, or HIV infection, or who have anatomic or functional asplenia if not previously received Hib.
HPV4Human Papillomavirus • Catch-up vaccination: - Females 19 – 26 years - Males 19 – 21 years • High risk males 22 - 26: - MSM, for those who did not get any or all doses when younger
MCV4Meningococcal Conjugate • Unvaccinated college students 19 – 21 living in dorm • High risk adults: - Persons w/ functional asplenia - HIV infected persons (2 doses)
MMRMeasles-Mumps-Rubella • Catch-up vaccination 19 – 26 years
PCV13Pneumococcal Conjugate • High risk adults: - Immunocompromised conditions (chronic renal failure, nephrotic syndrome) - Functional or anatomic asplenia
PPSV23Pneumococcal Polysaccharide • 1 dose for unvaccinated adults > 65 years • High risk adults: - < 65 years living with chronic lung disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic liver disease…
TdapTetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis • 1 Dose for unvaccinated adults > 19 years of age • Vaccinate pregnant women during each pregnancy*
VaricellaChickenpox • Catch-up vaccination for adults 19 – 26 years of age.
