2008-2012 Funding Announcement—Requirements Related to Adult Immunization • Work with partners (e.g., QIOs, medical professional societies, hospital infection control coordinators) to promote the adoption of evidence-based approaches to increasing vaccination such as • Using IIS for reminder/recall • Standing orders • Assessment and feedback in hospitals and LTC facilities and outpatient settings
2008-2012 Funding Announcement (2) • Work with partners (e.g. JCAHO) to increase influenza vaccination of health care workers • As 317 funds permit, increase access to vaccine for high-risk adults
Immunization Program Operations Manual • Describes 18 recommended activities (provided in briefing book) related to the three requirements for adult immunization described on previous slides • This manual identifies required activities related to childhood immunization in 9 program component areas
