Typical Federal Permitting Requirements • Electromagnetic Interference • Turbines may interfere with radar systems • Department of Defense issued a report – The Effect of Windmill Farms on Military Readiness – Sept. 27, 2006 • Wind farms located within radar line-of-sight of an air defense radar facility may degrade the ability of the radar to perform its intended function • Shadowing and increased “clutter”
