  2. Evanston Two-Generation: Partnerships • Partnership with Ascend, Evanston Community Foundation, and Northwestern University • Planning and pilot program implementation, July 2013 through June 2014, funding support from Ascend at the Aspen Institute

  3. Evanston Two-Generation: Initial Program Development • Developing Essential Partnerships • Employers • Early childhood education • Adult education, workforce training, community college • Other community resources (e.g., public library, YWCA)

  4. Evanston Two-Generation:Pilot Program • 13 mothers, at least one child 0-5, Evanston resident • Half referred by home visitors and ECE staff; other half responded to flyer at child’s center • Required: GED or high school degree, English proficiency

  5. Evanston Two-Generation:Pilot Program • February–May, 2014 • 13 weeks, 26 in-class hours as a cohort • Individual coaching sessions • Staff: Director/career coach

  6. Evanston Two-Generation:Pilot Program • Career Explorations • Hands-on career exploration • Educational exploration and planning • Financial literacy & planning • Educational testing • Personal & professional development • Work & family values & planning • Goal setting
