  1. The Internet of things is a vast network of interconnected devices, generating massive amounts of data every second. To visualize and organize this data, IoT dashboards are designed. A dashboard should be attractive, and every piece of information should be precisely visible to the user. In a dashboard, data can be visualized, organized, secured, analyzed, and collected in real-time. IOT DASHBOARD An IoT dashboard is a control panel for IoT devices or a tool in the form of a web app which is associated with the smart devices and IoT systems. The primary purpose of an IoT web app is to visualize the data collected from IoT systems that are transformed into user-readable form and display it via mobile application or web apps. The IoT control panel keeps the data organized, which is collected from the devices connected over the Internet. Precisely, an IoT dashboard can be defined as a tool used to make the information collected from connected smart devices into a human-readable language.. DATA STORAGE IN IOT DASHBOARD IoT devices generate vast information every second. However, the memory storage in these devices is less, which leads to the need for additional storage support. Here comes the need of an IoT Dashboard. All the data extracted from an IoT device is collected to analyze. The data collected in the form of time-series data is analysed and displayed. The data comes with a timestamp which is required to be stored at some of the places for the analysis process such as cold path analytics. An IoT control panel receives the data by IoT devices which pushes the data into data storage. In the data storage, the timestamp is provided to the data. The data is read, processed and data view is created. The data from data storage is displayed on the web-app.. Some IoT web apps are combined with personalized data storage so that users can experience the clear cut data view. These IoT web apps are designed to work with a variety of data storage systems. ANALYSIS OF STORED DATA

  2. There is a saying that not every data is a piece of information, but every information is a form of data. But how can we differentiate between information or data? The process of gathering information from the vast amount of data is called data analysis. An IoT device collects data every second, which means there can be lots of redundant data. Now, we can’t display every information on an IoT dashboard. Therefore the data needs to be analyzed so that only the relevant data can be extracted and displayed. Primary data analysis includes differentiating data in the form of a maximum or minimum. There are advanced techniques by which the trends can be analyzed. Some advanced methods of data analysis are trends analysis, predictive analysis, wrong diagnostic analysis. A useful IoT web app is capable of allowing the users to analyze the data by themselves. The analysis techniques can vary from hard to less complex. For instance, a simple, smart home automation system will have simple data analysis. However, a system where more precise information is needed includes advanced level data analysis. ORGANIZING DATA THROUGH IOT DASHBOARD Data organization is a must-have feature for an IoT control panel. If the dashboard is providing the collected data in human-readable form, but in an unorganized way then there is no use of this kind of dashboard. The data in an IoT web app should be organized in such a way that anybody can read it without any confusion. The data stored in an IoT control panel should be exportable, resizable and prioritized. The person using the IoT web app should be able to move the data in visualized form so that real time changes in data can be seen every time he logs in. The dashboard should prioritize the vital part of the data, and it should be kept at the top so that users can distinguish between essential data easily. The emphasis on crucial data can be given by highlighting, capitalizing, or colouring the particular piece of information different from complete data. Also, the alerts can be made visualized then flashing information in text form. For instance, if the IoT control panel is showing a weather forecast, then the sunny weather can be shown by a shining sun behind the clouds, or thunderstorms can be shown by black cloud visuals. These kinds of techniques are often used and much more effective to make people understand. Also, the visualizations should be resizable, i.e. if the data is shown in a pie chart, then each element of the pie chart needs to be zoomed in and zoomed out as per user requirements. Let’s say if we need to show the data for a particular region on a map, then the user should be able to resize every region for precise information. DATA PROCESSING IN REAL-TIME The primary purpose of an IoT control panel is to show the data in real-time. The data which is processed with minimum delay between the time of action and time of data delivered. Also, the data must get updated whenever the new data is generated. SECURITY OF DATA The data, in the end, needs to be secure. Data security is a must in any kind of system, organization or device. If some critical information is leaked with someone dangerous then it would cost some big losses. Therefore, Data security techniques should be applied at every stage

  3. IOT DASHBOARD: A TOOL FOR DATA VISUALIZATION After talking about data storage and data organization, you must be thinking about what are visualizations that are playing an essential role in both. Data Visualization is one of the most critical aspects of IoT. This is because an average human can’t memorize all the data collected from IoT devices. An IoT device captures and stores millions of data every second. However, if the data is displayed as it is stored, then the user can not really understand the significance of the collected data. Therefore, Data visualizations help in saving the data in an easy to understand manner. By data visualization, the user can visualize the information stored in the IoT control panel quickly. Let’s say if we want to show a fire alert, then a person might miss the text alert, but if there is a fire burning animation, then it will catch the attention 10 times faster and can prevent the severe damage. An IoT web app starts creating visualizations of the data from the start of the data collection process. The data collected and stored in the dashboard comes from different sources such as different sensors and other devices. There are various sensors which provide different information, including temperature, motion, contact, humidity, moisture, water quality, air quality, GPS, voltage, current, proximity etc.

  4. The data can be visualized in many forms. These forms include line graphs, geographic location maps, gauges, pie charts, pictograms, histograms, statistics, bar graphs, and heat maps. Imagine an IoT web app associated with a soil monitoring system where data visualization can be given for moisture level in soil, weather, humidity, salinity, etc. All these can be depicted in the form of bar graphs, pie charts, heat maps, etc. ADVANTAGES OF IOT DASHBOARD IoT dashboards are designed to provide information about the data collected by the IoT devices. These come with unlimited benefits. Some of these advantages include: 1.IoT devices might be physical, but the data collected by these devices are in the form of bits and bytes. An IoT web app is capable of collecting data in digitized form. It can store, display and process any kind of data which is sensed by sensors or collected from other methods. The data visualization methods including charts, histogram, graphs, etc. can quickly transform data into human language. 2.IoT dashboards can be precisely designed for any smart device. It can be viewed by anybody such as individuals, groups or big organizations. Businesses are adopting cloud technology to arrange data in precise form. For individuals, the IoT web apps can be beneficial for information related to the smart products they are using personally, such as fitness trackers. 3.IoT web apps can be accessed from anywhere to everywhere. The main advantage of the Internet of Things is that it is accessible globally. An IoT web app associated with the smart device can be accessed just by an URL. Also, the data saved on the IoT web app is more secure, and the chances of deletion of data are less as it collects data in real-time. 4. Data storage, organization, visualization, real-time collection and security, these are the features of a successful IoT dashboard. However, the IoT web app is much more advantageous than we can think. It is beyond the limits of our thinking, and it’s capabilities of visualizing any kind of information which make it an essential part of the whole IoT system.
