  1. Seeing Value in THIS CHURCH God’s Family

  2. 1 Peter 2:4-5 • 4Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God & precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being builtup a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

  3. Membership, an Obedience issue • 1 Peter 5:1-2 – “Shepherd the flock of God which is among you”. • A desire to be together: “Among you”. • Letters of recommendation (Acts 18:27; Rom 16:1-2; Col 4:10).

  4. Membership, a Fellowship issue • 1 Cor 1:1-10 – A shared spiritual life in Christ. • A partnership with Christ AND the saved (1 John 1:3; Gal 2:9; Heb 10:23-25).

  5. Membership, an Authority issue • Matt 21:33-46 – God’s authority is respected by respecting His laborers. • A duty toward those who lead & teach (1 Thess 5:12-13; Heb 13:7, 17).

  6. Membership, an Identity issue • Eph 4:1-6 – Standing with the church. • A “unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”.

  7. Membership, a Loyalty issue • Eph 2:19-22 – There is unwavering devotion in Christ’s true church. • A strong sense of family responsibility.

  8. Seeing value in THIS church • Resources for spiritual growth. • Leadership for instruction & protection. • Fellowship to strengthen resolve.

  9. Gospel Plan of Salvation • Believe on Jesus as the Lord & Christ: Son of God John 8:23-24; 20:30-31; Mark 16:16; Rom 10:9-10 • Repent – change your mind Luke 24:46-47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30-31 • Confess your faith in Christ Matt 10:32-33; Acts 8:36-38; Rom 10:9-10 • Be immersed in water – forgiveness of sins Matt 28:19; Mk 16:16; Acts 2:38; Rom 6:3-4; 1 Pet 3:21 • Live in obedient faith to the Lord Heb 5:8-9; 1 Peter 1:14; Rev 2:10
