Art in the future? By Kacper Piotr Krzemiński
What is ART? • Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities; this article focuses primarily on the visual arts, which includes the creation of images or objects in fields including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media. Architecture is often included as one of the visual arts; however, like the decorative arts, it involves the creation of objects where the practical considerations of use are essential—in a way that they usually are not in a painting, for example. Music, theatre, film, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature and other media such as interactive media, are included in a broader definition of art or the arts. Until the 17th century, art referred to any skill or mastery and was not differentiated from crafts or sciences, but in modern usage the fine arts, where aesthetic considerations are paramount, are distinguished from acquired skills in general, such as the decorative or applied arts.
Online programs, such as EDCANVAS.COM • Another thing that is becoming popular is teachers designing lessons and students accessing them via sites such as www.edcanvas.com • This is much more efficient the teachers taking an hour to make a PowerPoint and then students not even listening to it. • This will intrigue students as they can all learn at their own pace and independently. • It will also ease teachers, as they will only need about 10 minutes to design a lesson and the effect will be the same
In-built Tablets • One good idea for art would be tablets built into tables. These would allow quick access to information, students could easily copy pictures and even put their sheets over the tablet to trace. This would increase the learning rate as students would not have to constantly turn around to see the board, whilst also encouraging students to be independent.
3D Printers • 3D Printers are new, modern revolutionary equipment that allows us to print things in the 3D dimension(AWESOME) • These right now are hellishly expensive, but if the school saves up, we could get one! • Apart from being awesome, they would actually be really beneficial to the school as we could print cheap copies of models such as figures, scientific models and even this like cutlery for DT!
