  30. Conference Program Why are we here? • To build community • Learn about resources to grow community colleges • Increase awareness and usage of CTEOS (and LaunchBoard!) among all stakeholders • Continue the grassroots spirit of this project

  31. Conference Program To fulfill these goals, we have created four tracks Data and Analysis Discussion Groups CTEOS and Its Uses The LaunchBoard

  32. The Survey With so many data sources, let’s talk about why CTEOS and surveys are important

  33. The Survey • Problem 1: Coverage • Self-employed—up to 10% in some samples • Those without SSN—a significant group in CCC • Out of state migrants • Specific occupations

  34. The Survey • Problem 2: More than just wages • WHY did you go to school? • How satisfied are you with your training? • How many hours did you work? • What was your occupation? • E.g., Biomanufacturing—as a lab tech, or a driver?

  35. The Survey What’s new over the past year? • TOP Codes for skills-builders • NAICS industry codes • Standardized job titles and codes • Full participation from all CCC • Super nerdy stuff (e.g., browser type & version, OS, screen resolution, flash version, java support)

  36. The Survey What may be happening in the near future? To cover more student populations To combine more data sources for comprehensiveness To create more tools that are used outside “the usual” stakeholders And further into the future? A one stop shop…all useful outcomes…all CCC students

  37. After Today… The Research Academy is only the beginning. What’s next? Check your flashdrive • CTEOS survey instrument, data, reports, dictionary Stop by the CTEOS table at CCCAOE and other conferences Visit our website cteos.santarosa.edu to grab Research Academy resources • And VERY SOON at cteos.org Check out the LaunchBoard website
