Case Summary • Mild mental disability working in a Workshop for People with Disability • Duration of on-site assessment • 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm • 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm: prepare & sign certificate • On-site assessment items: • Productivity: time, speed & quality • Others: • level of supervision; learning atmosphere • presentation skills
Preparatory Work • Collect detailed information on • Nature, requirements and procedures of the work through the employer, the person with disabilities • Search for background of the working institutes – web-based search • Data entry to the web-based system provided by Labour Department
Post-assessment Tasks • Post-assessment communications with the parents • Complete the assessment checklists • Data entry to the web-based database • Print-out & mail all documents to Labour Department • Overall time spent: whole day
Factors for Success • Briefing sessions & training to assessors • Align goals & expectations of the productivity assessment • Briefing sessions/ workshops for parents • Adequate information & understanding • Good support from Labour Department • Timely and adequate support • Clear explanation and coaching • Training: • Legislation requirements • Assessment guide and alignment

Further Improvement • Enhance the training content / Arrange Booster program for: • Illustration of case examples for different types of disability e.g physical / mental • Sharing of background of different organizations • Prepare a list of “steps-to-follow”to standardize the logistics flow • e.g checking the validity of "Registration Card for People with Disabilities" before assessment; checking the last 4-digit of ID card
