REPORTING THE HEAT-TREAT EXPERIMENT Reports should be typed or clearly printed on standard 8 1/2” x 11” paper. Organization, accuracy, clarity, and neatness will be considered in grading the lab report. To be effective, report should be arranged in sections under logical headings. The following form is suggested for reporting the lab assignment. However, variations may be necessary and are to be made whenever justified. • 1. Objectives a statement of the objectives to be attained through the completion of the lab. • 2. Materials A list of all materials to be tested, specifying kind, shape, and size. • 3. Equipment A list of the tools and/or apparatus used and accurately described. *** Please report any apparatus that is defective !!! *** • 4. Procedure A statement of the essential details of the testing procedure. • 5. Data The original, signed data sheet. • 6. Conclusions A statement of the conclusions which may be drawn from the results. Draw no conclusions not supported by results!
