  1. Aurora’s All 4 Business Action Plan:Strategy 2B – Define Quality Development Aurora’s goal is to improve service by communicating and defining the city’s vision of “Quality Development”. Our definition is based on a principal concept of producing an end product that meets our citizen's ultimate needs, expectations and visions of our growing city.

  2. Bringing the Vision to Life… “The future is not some place we’re going to, but a place we are creating. The paths to it are not found, they are made.”

The City of Aurora defines quality development through well-crafted plans and policies that support sustainable design, facilitate a strong and robust local economy, provide economic stability, protect the city’s resources, and enhance the quality of life in the community. A collaborative working relationship between city staff and stakeholders ensures development goals and outcomes are satisfactory to all. Definition of Quality Development

  4. Well crafted plans and policies… • The Aurora comprehensive plan is a major tool the city uses to help ensure continued success in the five realms represented on the city seal: • Home • School • Place of Worship • Business • Industry

  5. Sustainability… We strive to support growth and prosperity of current and future generations by protecting: • Health • Environment • Natural resources • Cultural amenities • Financial stability

  6. Sustainable development is meeting the needs of the present without compromising our future generation’s needs, livability and security.

  7. Robust Economy… We must contribute to the continued economic well-being of the city of Aurora by: • Investing in transportation solutions • Attracting new business opportunities • Seeking new land development investment to the area

  8. Quality of Life….. Quality of life is achieved by supporting: • Initiatives that increase opportunities for mixed income housing • Education • Jobs • Recreation • Civic involvement • Health and safety

Collaborative team-building promotes smarter land use which means that neighbors, developers, city planners, and environmentalists work as a team to build trust and conceptualize each project. A livable community is highly connected, collaborative, caring, compassionate, and responsive to the stakeholders.
