Itinerary of an intercultural field research: possible phases According to requirements, different itineraries and phases are possible. Phase 0 (Defining task), 1 (Preparation) and 3 (project work) are basic elements of an intercultural field research, phases 2 (preparation), 4 (follow-up) und 5 (presentation) are recommended, but optional. An Evaluation (Phase E) should regularly be made to assure quality.
Comment concerning the following transparencies: Every phase contains participants‘ activities (yellow) and activities of the project management as a support structure (white) corresponding to each other (blue arrow). Phase 0: Defining the project task. With or without the participant. At least, time period, topic, task and requested results should be defined. By referring to concrete requirements of the training curriculum, one can prove the relation between defined task to the training and thus enhance the acceptance of a project for training companies or professional schools. Phase 1: Preparation of the participants for the stay abroad. The preparation can be done by a group seminar or individually with each participant. It can contain linguistic, crosscultural, methodic elements (concerning the project work), depending on knowledge, competences and personal independence of the participants. Besides, participants should understand the INTAKT/KOMPASS database and enter first data during phase 1. Presentation: Benedikt Eimann - b.eimann@fls-international.de - Berlin - +49 178 1370750
The needs of preparation result from the requested project work on the one hand, and from the competences of the participants on the other hand.
