  1. Unfortunately, many Americans live on the outskirts of hope -- some because of their poverty, and some because of their color, and all too many because of both. President Johnson’s State of the Union Address January 8, 1964 Our task is to help replace their despair with opportunity. This administration today, here and now, declares unconditional war on poverty in America.

  3. Officially Designated by the County Board of Supervisors as Sonoma County’s Community Action Agency ~ 1968

  4. Our Mission The purpose of Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County is to partner with low income families and individuals to help them achieve economic and social stability, to build community, and to advocate for social and economic justice. Adopted April 1999

Head Start  Designed to help break the cycle of poverty, Head Start provides a comprehensive program that meets the emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs of preschool children from low income families and children with disabilities.
