  2. Monday Objective • I will explain the steps of asexual reproduction.

  3. Bell work • Use the supplemental packet you received yesterday and answer questions #2-6 that are in the “Practice” section of the Asexual Reproduction chapter.

  4. Vocabulary • Create new flashcards for the following terms: • Binary Fission • Fragmentation • Budding

  5. Video • 2N = Two full sets of chromosomes • N = one full set of chromosomes • Khan Academy mitosis on You Tube • Take notes as they are put on the board.

  6. Homework • Write a paragraph describing the phases of Mitosis. • Minimum of 8 sentences!!

  7. Tuesday Objective • I will explain the phases of mitosis. • I will explain cytokinesis.

  8. Bellwork • Create flash cards for the following terms: • Mitosis • Interphase • Prophase • Metaphase • Anaphase • Telophase • Cytokinesis

  9. Mitosis Models • As a group, use the materials provided to model mitosis. • Draw your model. • Be sure to represent your materials. • Be sure to represent and label all phases of Mitosis.

  10. Homework • Read pages 192-198 in your textbook.

  11. Wednesday Objective • I will compare asexual and sexual reproduction.

  12. Bellwork • Create flash cards for the following terms: • Meiosis • Gamete • Haploid • Diploid

  13. Unit Project Intro • Review the instructions for the “Position Paper on Genetic Technology/Bioengineering” project. • This paper is your unit project and is due on Monday, March 24th.

  14. Comparing Reproduction • Use the worksheet to take notes during our discussion today.

  15. Homework • Finish the worksheet.

  16. Thursday Objective • I will explain the phases of meiosis.

  17. Bell work • On a separate piece of paper; use complete sentences to answer questions #1-7 on page 198 of your textbook. Be detailed!!

  18. Coloring Pages • Complete the Mitosis and Meiosis coloring pages. • Remember to highlight the information that is NOT included in your textbook.

  19. Homework • Complete the Coloring Pages.

  20. Friday Objective • I will explain the phases of meiosis.

  21. Bell work • Complete the following: Meiosis I Meiosis II

  22. Review • Take notes as you watch the Khan Academy video teaching the phases of Meiosis.

  23. Summary • Write 2 paragraphs (min. 8 sentences EACH). • Paragraph 1 – Describe the purpose and phases of Meiosis I. • Paragraph 2 – Describe the purpose and phases of Meiosis II.

  24. Homework • Finish your summary paragraphs. • Read pages 199-207 in your textbook.
