Penn state’s radiators are designed to heat rooms in a comfortable and safe manner
1 Heat conducive metal is potential for a burn At furniture level, radiator often blocked Uneven heat distribution Cannot control temperature However, the radiator fails to do its job in an efficient way • Radiators often reach • temperatures of 230 oF • Can cause up to • second degree burns 2 3
Introduce a thermostat which allows temperature control and timing Install a radiator cover for safety Costs around $50 Improves airflow Use more than one vent placed at the bottom of the floor 6 There are multiple solutions to the outdated radiator system 4 5
7 With thermostat, one can change temperature accordingly and whenever he prefers Two vents at the floor will even the heating and prevent airflow from being blocked Radiator cover will improve airflow so hot air does not sit under ceiling My design is better because it can reduce costs, it’s safer and is more user-friendly 8
