When creating a workshop, ask yourself some questions. What is your time limit? What type of audience are you addressing? How well informed are you about the subject? What is your main focus?
Researchyour topic Always be accurate. Never present outdated information. -BEE an expert! Verify your sources. Always try to grasp the whole concept.
Effective Workshops Before Presentation
Practice, Practice, Practice! Practice in front of a mirror or a small audience. Do not rely on technology. Time yourself. BEE Prepared. Gather your materials beforehand.
Effective Workshops During Presentation
It’s all about appearanceand content Use your personality to your advantage. Use polite, professional body language. Keep your audience’s attention. Talk TO your audience, not AT them. Emphasize the right words at the right time.
Engagethe audience! Don’t be monotone, and make sure your enthusiasm shows. If you seem bored, they’ll be bored. Share persona-l stories and experiences. Ask questions, and include the audience. Don’t read off a PowerPoint.
Break the Ice. Change things up if they become too repetitive. Be relatable. Come off as someone they know, not someone your audience fears. Never read directly from a note card or slide.
