  2. Breast cancer statistics UK • Most common cancer in the UK Each year • around 55,000 people diagnosed • a third of all cancers diagnosed in women are breast cancer (CRUK)

  3. The facts • Biggest risk factor after gender is increasing age • Lifetime risk 1 in 8 for women • 81% of breast cancers occur in women over the age of 50 • around 400 men diagnosed each year
