Stage zero breast cancer: Its Stages and Diagnosis Firstly what is stage zero breast cancer; Stage zero breast cancer, also called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), is a non-invasive breast cancer. DCIS is the most common type of breast cancer diagnosed today. DCIS is not life-threatening, but if left untreated, it can develop into invasive breast cancer. What are the stages of stage zero breast cancer? There are three types of stage zero breast cancer: ● ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), ● lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS), and ● Paget's disease of the nipple. DCIS is the most common type of stage zero breast cancer. It is non-invasive, meaning it has not spread outside the milk ducts. Breast cancer treatment in Gurgaon is needed if the condition gets worse. LCIS is also noninvasive, but it is less common than DCIS. Paget's disease of the nipple is a rare type of stage zero breast cancer that affects the nipple and areola. It is important to note that Paget's disease can be a sign of underlying invasive breast cancer. Stage zero breast cancer is usually found on a mammogram. If you have stage zero breast cancer, you may need to have more mammograms than women who don't have breast cancer. You may also need other tests, such as a breast MRI or a breast ultrasound.
