  8. But all freedoms are not equally blissful…

  9. Liberty is freedom

  10. Liberty is the freedomof external movement, freeing us from physicalrestraintorviolence

  11. Liberty may coexist with the internal alienations of folly, ignorance or overwhelming passions which limit our freedom

  12. Self-determinationis freedom

  13. Self-determination is the freedomof internal choiceordeliberation,freeing us from ignoranceandpassion,the freedom of indifference

  14. Self-determination may coexist with the alienation of sin which leads to misery and death

  15. To be alienated is to be submitted to a power that harms our dignity, which is anything that is not God

  16. Virtueis freedom

  17. Cardinal and theological virtues are freedom

  18. Virtue is the perfect power, ‘by the aid of God's grace’ to act or not, like this or like that, always & well ‘in the service of what is good’ ‘and [to] come freely to utter and blissful perfection’.

  19. Virtue is the freedomoftruelove, freeing us fromsin & death,the highest form of freedom.
