The National Apprenticeship Service- National Picture National Apprenticeship Service National Apprenticeship Service • Over 500,000 people started an Apprenticeship in 2011/12. • 100,000 employers in 200,000 locations. • 280 skills and industries; 1500 job roles. • 15,000 Apprenticeship vacancies available online at any one time. • One million online applications in 2012. • £1.5 billion government investment in 2012-13. • Return on investment of £18 per pound spent (Govt investment)
