Haylage (Grass Silage) Moisture % - Application 70 - 60 1 lb. 60 – 50 1.5 lbs. 50 – 40 2 lbs. Baleage (Wrapped Grass) Moisture % - Application 60 - 50 1.5 lb. 50 – 35 2 lbs. Baled Hay (Round /Square) Moisture % - Application 15 – 25 2 lbs. FOR USE ON HAY Bale at 25% moisture or less Verify hay moisture with accurate method BALING HAY WITH HAY GUARD Determine the number of bales made per minute and average weight. Multiply to determine lbs baled per minute. Multiply lbs per minute by 60 to determine lbs per hour. Determine application rate, based on moisture level. Use calibration chart to determine pressure setting & nozzle size. Example: 10 ton per hr. applying 25.6 oz per ton 10 ton x 25.6 = 256 oz or 2 gal per hour Note: Hay Guard is 25% heavier than water. Example: 12.8 oz = 1 lb * 25.6 = 2 lb APPLICATION RATE PER TON Based on moisture content CALIBRATION CHART: NOZZLE PRESSURE 1 NOZZLE 2 NOZZLES SIZE READING OZ./HR.
