Content Area I - PLC/Data Teams * Create unit sequence and pacing for 2011-2012 * Review ECAs/CFAs from 2010-2011 * Review ECA/CFA to be completed by Oct 19th * Creation of new ECA/CFA Item 3 (if time): Levels meet across content to review ECA/CFA and discuss if the content ECA/CFA translates to other content, but same level For example: Level I ECA - Typical Day Children's book 2:45 - 3:00 - Cultural Responsiveness

Goal is a Transformational Shift Aligned Instruction, means we align what is written, taught and tested to standards This is a significant, complex shift. What does a student need to learn? -instead of- What do I want to teach? SPPS in Year 1 of a three-year process

Better Achievement for Every Student* Collaborative Data Teams/PLCs guide differentiated instruction.* Researched-based strategies drive interventions.* Clear and high expectations are established across all learning environments.

Item 2: What do we need to do to align content? Working in District Content PLC/Data Team. The group you choose to work with becomes your district PLC/Data Team. By working together you are committing to creating a CFA or ECA, teaching the CFA/ECA by Oct 19th and bring student work for Oct 19th. A. Complete a unit and pacing guide for the 2011-2012 school year B. Use the wiki site to align what is taught and learned to standards
What is an Engaging Common Assessment (ECA)? Step 1-5: Unwrapped standards (Concepts, Skills, Big Ideas, Essential Questions) Step 6: Performance tasks for each Essential Question Step 7: Plan the performance tasks for each Essential Question (These can be used by PLC/Data Team as a Common Formative Assessment-CFA) Step 8: Identify Interdisciplinary Standards Step 9: Create engaging scenario using SCRAP Step 10: Scoring guides (rubrics) for performance tasks and engaging scenario
