UPGRADING OHS IN TURKEY - ISAG PROJECT PHASE I • Time: • Meet with success between the dates 15.01.2004 – 03.02.2006. • Budget: • Total: 8.16 million EURO • EU support: 7 million EURO • National contribution: 1.16 million EURO • Aim of the Project: • Adjust the Turkish OHS standards to the EU standards, • Especially focused on the SMEs, make a contribution to develop a effective and efficient system for implementation of OHS rules and regulations. • Components of the Project: • 1. Development of the Training and the Corporate Capacity • 2. Promotion of the OHS • 3. Laboratories • - reformation of the İSGÜM Building • - Purchasing of the laboratory equipment
UPGRADING OHS IN TURKEY - ISAG PROJECT PHASE II • Time: • Meet with success between the dates 08.09.2006 - 08.09.2008 • Budget: • Total: 3 million EURO • EU support: 2.25 million EURO • National contribution: 0.75 million EURO • Aim of the Project: • Ensuring widespread and affordable OHS services for SMEs is aimed by establishing mobile laboratories. • Contract of project was finalized in the year 2007 and the mobile laboratories were delivered in the year 2008. • In the scope of the Project: • Mobile occupational health units, • Sample transportation units, • Multimedia equipments and conference systems purchased.
IMPROVEMENT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY CONDITIONS IN WORKPLACES IN TURKEY • The project by the DGOHS in the scope of IPA 2007 “Improvement of health and safety conditions in workplaces in Turkey (TR0702.20)” has been submitted to the EU Commission and approved. • The activities of the project whose implementation has been started in February 2008 • Job description (ToR) has been prepared by theexperts • Projectstarts in the year 2009 and will last for 24 months.
ESTABLISHMENT OF LABORATORY FOR PERSONEL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) TESTING OF MARKET SURVEILLANCE • The main purpose of the project is, establishment of PPE testing laboratory for strengthening the market surveillance laboratories in the national level. • Budget:: • Total: 1,2 million EURO. • 0.6 million EURO service procurement • 0.6 million EURO equipment • EU support: 1.05 million EURO • National contribution: 0.15 million EURO • Job description (ToR) and the contracting documents has been prepared • The project lasts for 18 months.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE İSGÜM REGIONAL LABORATORIES • With the project, technical support will be taken for ensuring the determination of exposure of physical and chemical factors are made appropriate to international standards and same way with each other. • Also the PPE laboratory will serve to the requirements of the Market Surveillance (MS) system. • The project put in to practice in the year 2009 and lasts for 24 months.
OSHA TURKEY In the scope of "Prepatory measures for the participation of candidate countries and future candidate countries in the European Agency for Safety and Health", European Agency for Occupational Health and Safety at Work (EU-OSHA) signed an arrangement with Turkey in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The purpose of this Arrangement is to agree on the activities under the support provided by the Agency to the Agency’s Turkish Focal Point in Ministry of Labour and Social Security and also to provide for a common understanding of the roles and responsibilities in the framework of the project.
