  5. Dance Makes Learning Meaningful! • Dance adds a level of enjoyment to learning that academic subjects are not always able to achieve. • It also gives students something to be proud of.

  6. Creative Movement in Dance • Allows students to freely express themselves through movement. • To have fun while learning. • Allows positive social interactions with other students. • Builds self confidence and self-esteem.

Dance Motif is an example of teaching symbols in dance. • Reading symbols that represent movement ideas. • Communicates movement ideas in written forms. • Assists learning in a variety of modalities (visual, aural, written, kinetic), particularly identifying and understanding main movement concepts. • While learning a form of dance notations

  9. Dance and Storytelling • Students can act out the main concepts. • The movement brings the stories to life. • Write a journal and reflect on their experience.
