Our Impressions Cons
Starting Salary and Opportunity for Advancement • Public health does not have a determinant starting salary it depends on many factors such as: • Most important: How much grant money is available to fund a program • Work/field experience • Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree • Potential for advancement coincides with the attainment of grant money • More funding offers new opportunities for attaining advanced certifications, credentials, and skills • Still considered a health educator but may be switched to a different program
Professional Organizations Directors of Health Promotion & Education • Facilitate the exchange of ideas, methods and techniques and information to enrich and improve public health education programs • Make recommendations on legislation and public policy related to public health education • Develop cooperation between national, public, private and voluntary agencies related to public health • http://www.dhpe.org/
