Forces and Loads. Static Load. Static Loads: are loads that are unchanging or change slow Example: A person holding a stack of books but he is not moving. The force downwards is STATIC FORCE . Dynamic Load.

Static Load Static Loads: are loads that are unchanging or change slow Example: A person holding a stack of books but he is not moving. The force downwards is STATIC FORCE
Dynamic Load Dynamic Load is a load that is always moving and changing on the given structure. Example: A person carrying a weight of books and walking. The force is moving or DYNAMIC FORCE.
Tension Tension is a pulling force Example: The rope is in “tension” as the two people pull on it. This stretching puts the rope in tension.
Compression Compression is a squeezing force Example: The weight lifter finds that his body is compressed by the weights he is holding above his head.
Shear Shear: a multidirectional sliding and separating force.
Torsion Torsion: A twisting force.
